Chores Are Completed

Today is Friday, January 29, 2010. It was a cloudy rainy day today, but not to cold. So needless to say I didn't get to try to take pictures outside.

Did finish up all of the cooking for two weeks, the grocery shopping for both homes and a load of laundry done. Then I started working on my next project, it is all cut and "x"ed, just needs to be put together. The other project is of a cross stitch that I swapped with Sherry for. It is gorgeous and at first, I was going to frame it. Now after getting it, I am not sure what I would like to do with it.

Thought about making a wall hanging and then a lap quilt. The pictures of her work just do not do it justice. So at this time, well I am not sure which direction this is going to take. Any suggestions or ideas? I want to show it off and I don't think it just hanging there is going to do that. Maybe a tote?

George is on his way home and should be here in about forty-five minutes. He has had a very long day, considering his day starts at 4:00 a.m. and then a seven hour drive. We are going to go out to dinner tomorrow night, yep we are. I have already told him this. LOL We haven't went out in a very long time. Not his fault, I think it was all of the years that I worked as a GM, I would just prefer to stay home and eat.

Young son was not impressed with having to get all of the groceries at one time. He told me that the trip to town today was "dreadful". He would rather make two trips, one for dad's stuff and one for our stuff. Sorry son, I don't want to have to make another trip to town this week, the first of the month is right here and the stores will be crazy.

48 Hours

Today is Wednesday, January 27, 2010. It was a pretty day, a little cool, but no rain or wind. It is supposed to be in the thirties again tonight. I was so hoping that he weather man was wrong for the weather this week. I so feel for the folks that are going to get the ice storm. Stay warm and safe.

I did get young son's quilt finished, well it needs to be clipped, but it is finished as far as the sewing and putting it together. I tried to take a picture, but it just wasn't working out. So tomorrow I will try to get it hung on the clothes line and see what happens. You all know how well I take pictures.

Now I can work on the other two projects that I have started just not finished. They shouldn't take me to long now that the quilt is out of the way. And I do mean out of the way. Four hundred fifty squares laid out all over the place is a real mess with no where else to work.

With running the heater and the fire place my skin is sooo dry. Was over at Nan's blog, Old Crows Nest Journal and she had a use for vinegar. When I read it I wasn't to sure about doing this, but let me tell you it really works! I love it and so simple and easy to make! Not to mention you probably have the two ingredients in your home already. I used this mixture this morning and I can really feel the difference! Even my feet are loving this! Thank you Nan!!!

Hubby will be home in 48 hours! So looking forward to him being here! So tomorrow I will clean up the house, what needs to be done and then Friday get his groceries and cook for him before he gets home. I don't want to spend the day and a half that he is going to be here with me in the kitchen. Maybe I will "make" him take me out to dinner on Saturday. Yea, I think that sounds like a real good idea.

A Wonderful Weekend

Today is Tuesday, January 26, 2010. It was a very pretty day today, although a little windy, which made it a little cooler than it has been. The weather is changing again, getting colder at night in the thirties. This is supposed to be happening most of the week. Let's hope the weather man is wrong about this. I don't care for the colder weather like I use to. It seems to make my body ache.

The weekend was a good one. The grand daughter went to the big market instead of staying the weekend, I couldn't blame her for this. There isn't to much to do here, so if given the chance to go and do something, jump on it.

This is a picture of a Cardinal that hit the window so hard that she left a couple of feathers. Not to mention she scared me to death. She sat there for about 35 minutes and then flew off. Young son said she isn't moving. No son, I don't think I would be moving either if I hit something hard enough to leave flesh. She seemed to be fine after sitting there and regrouping.

Hubby still isn't feeling so hot, but he will be home this weekend. I think he said it will be three weeks after this. At least that's what I am thinking. I feel like I have lost or am losing my mind here the last month or so. I can't seem to remember anything. ugh....

Young son's quilt is almost finished and should be finished tomorrow. Then I have a wall hanging that I am making for me. I did a swap with Sherry she does the most incredible cross stitch in Pagan and Wiccan designs. After I received it, I wanted to do something more than just frame it. It is just gorgeous, pictures just don't do it justice. Also have a tote that I need to get finished. I know, here we go again with all of these unfinished projects. But, they will get finished before I start anything else. At least that is the plan, not to start the two other new lap quilts that I am so wanting to start.

I did get to make a Treasury today, if you have a chance to take a peek, please do and leave a comment.

Pouring Rain, Clean and Fresh

Today is Thursday, January 21, 2010. It was a very rainy day! I mean it poured for hours. The wheel barrel is about 3/4 of the way full and the cover on the pool is sinking really bad. Needless to say, I have got that draining with the garden hoses. It was a needed rain and everything smells so good. Lots of thunder and lightening and of course the electric would go on and off. I refuse to set the clocks until tomorrow, not tricking me again.

Did get the house chores done so tomorrow it will be back outside to the yard after the trip to town. It's a have to trip, have to get groceries and the Post Office. It's supposed to be 70 degrees tomorrow so working in the yard will be wonderful.

Also got a couple of more items listed on Etsy and finished up this little project. Have to get it out in the mail tomorrow.

Daughter and her family came over again tonight, she needed to use the computer to file her taxes. The grand babies made clay hearts. The oldest grand son played chess with young son. Son in law wants to cook out this weekend and has offered to make a dump run for me. See why he is my favorite son in law, not to mention, my only son in law. He is also going to take the tiller to the shop tomorrow. Showed him the "chicken tractor" and he wants to build one too! He didn't laugh at me.

Hubby called and sounds like he is getting sick. He says, "I still got over a week to go before I come home." Yes baby, I know.... It doesn't help that when he calls he hears all of the kids and grand kids in the background.

A Gorgeous Day

Today is Wednesday, January 20, 2010. It was a gorgeous day today! The sun was shining and it was a wonderful 73 degrees. Couldn't ask for a better day to work in the yard. However, the weather report says thunder storms tonight and tomorrow. So we put in a long day today.

Worked in the yard all day, threw in a couple of loads of laundry and got them hung outside. This was all of the wood that was left for the fireplace after the cold weather that we have had. At the end of the day we had both front and back filled back up again. Most of the other wood, that still needs to be split is almost restacked and off of the ground. Raked up most of the yard, cleaned out Charlotte's pen and cleaned off the top of the dog house. Hubby had that stacked full of junk, yes junk.

We started a dump pile that I will have to have gone before he comes home again. That man has so much junk it is nuts. So the plan is to have everything that has to go to the dump, gone before the weekend he gets home. If not I am so, well you know.

Dug out some more pots to start more seeds in. Found some of the big ones! Got them all filled with dirt and will add seeds in the next couple of days. Probably a good thing for the rain, the house needs a little attention. So I can get that done tomorrow, if it rains. Then Friday back outside to get more of the yard work done.

Also got a couple of items finished, just need to get pictures taken, then to list. Should be able to get that done tomorrow. Or at least that is my plan, you know how it goes with me taking pictures. ugh.....

Time To Get Back To Work

Today is Monday, January 18, 2009. It is a beautiful day, the sun is shining, but you still need to wear a jacket. Yesterday the wind was wild. I have never seen it like it was, strong and constantly changing direction. Watching the tiny sparrows sitting on the feeder, I wondered how they were able to stay put. This stag horn still has some green to it, keeping fingers crossed.

It was a good weekend. The universal joints, both front and rear had to be changed on the truck. So we did that first, knowing that the weather was going to get bad. Neither one of us wanted to be out in the pouring rain. Didn't seem to take to long to do, nothing like the Jeep. LOL

We had a great Mexican dinner on Friday with the daughter and her family. My grand daughter made me pictures. She cut out pictures that she had colored in her coloring book, placed them on napkins and then used little stickers to hold them. She is only eight but wants to learn to scrap book. I have never done real scrap booking other than in my BOS. So I will try to get a "kit" to get her going, see if she really likes doing it. Maybe this weekend I will have her spend the night and her and I can see if we can start scrap booking together. There are a couple of little cutting machines that if she stays with it, I will have to get for her.

Thanks to Mother Moon's Message, I found a blog Bogaman's Blog. He has some really neat posts. There is one of a "chicken tractor". This is going to be one of my projects here in the next couple of weeks. Mama thought I was crazy, hubby thinks if that's what you want to do. Yes, this is something that I want to do. Very cool, thank you "X" !

Hubby dug out the tiller while he was here. It needs a carburetor. So will have to take it to the shop and get one. Have to have her running very soon. The wood pile has dwindled to nothing with the two weeks of freezing cold. So, that is another project that is going to have to been done this week. Yeah, get to work in the yard this week, weather promiting .

Hubby has left, so it is time to get busy, finish up projects, get the yard cleaned up and wood split and stacked. That wind made a real mess yesterday, limbs, moss, and mistletoe scattered throughout the yard. My craft room is in no better shape than the yard. Grand daughter let me know this.

Going To Be A Great Weekend

Today is Saturday, January 16, 2009. It is cloudy and wet, but this is OK it is warmer. I think we lost two of the stag horn plants with the freeze. Maybe they will come out of it, I hope so.

Hubby called Thursday night, said he had a problem. I see that, he was calling from any unknown number. Aren't you glad that I answer unknown numbers? He had lost his phone. OK I sent you with a back up get it and I will switch out the phones, no worries. I knew that he wasn't going to make it another two days there.

I called him Friday morning to tell him good morning, more to make sure that he had set the alarm on the other phone. He was up and ready for work, then came the talk of coming home. I told him come home, Monday is a holiday so you will have more time at home. So he got home about eleven Friday night. His snoring was music to my ears, didn't take him long either, within ten seconds of hitting the pillow. He won't leave now until Monday at noon.

The picture is of the Valentine's Day goody bag that I just listed in my Etsy shop. Have another one almost finished. Don't think it will be done for a couple of days though.

It's going to be a great weekend!

Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live today. ~Brightest Blessings~

So tonight I will make a big Mexican feast and daughter and my favorite son in law with the grandbabies will be here. So looking forward to dinner.

Ten Things That Make Me Happy

Today is Thursday, January 14, 2009. The weather I think is getting warmer! At least it wasn't in the teens last night. Right now it is 29 degrees and the sun is trying to peek out from behind the clouds.

I received an award for Mother Moon's Message blog. Her blog is wonderful, inspiring, insightful, will make you laugh and cry. Then there are the posts that hit home. The ones that make you think and go I get it! Thank you so much for passing this on to me! With this award you are to list ten things that make you happy.

My husband makes me really happy. I not only love him, I like him! He is my best friend, the one that I can talk to about anything. The one that makes me feel good, no matter how I look or feel. The one that can make me laugh and the one that also taught me to laugh at myself. The one that tells me every night at dinner, thank you baby, that was good. Even when he is not at home, he will call me and tell me this. He is the one that I can count on, no matter what happens.

My grandkids make me happy. They are so energizing! They range in age from nine months to 9 years old. Right now we are at five boys and five girls! We only have one girl that is really not a tomboy. The summer is the most fun with them. They love to work in the yard, planting and raking. Not to mention the pool is their favorite place to be in the summer. It is a full house! Papa fires up the grill and we cook out, loads of hot dogs. Papa can't cook them fast enough! LOL They are always there to snuggle or just sit in my lap. Those little arms stretched out to pick them up, the little ones that grab you by the leg and just squeeze.

My mama makes me happy. I am so blessed to have her. She is so full of energy at the age of 73, she can out do most of the folks that I know. She says it like it is, no sugar coating anything with her and she expects the same. Right now she is so ticked off at the government that I thought she was going to blow a gasket. Now I know that isn't funny, but to see her that mad, well it is funny. She hasn't been to a doctor in 45 years and will tell you to stay away from doctors. LOL I just can't imagine my life without her.

Working in my yard makes me happy. Digging into the dirt and planting seeds, watching them grow to produce flowers or food. Digging up the little oak trees that have started, to pot them and give them to people that want them. Sharing starters with others makes me really happy.

My friends make me happy. I don't have lots of friends, but the ones that I have, we have been through so much together. Through thick and thin we are always there for one another. No matter the time day or night. We know that we can count on each other. If it is a shoulder to cry on or a swift kick in the backside, it will be there.

Learning new things thrills me. I can remember learning to make a button hole. Now to some that might seem like no big deal. But let me tell you when I mastered that the first time, my heart soared. Egg rolls was another thriller. The first time that I made them, well lets just say they exploded in the fryer.

Alone time now makes me happy. When I first quit working to stay at home, I was lost. I would wonder around the house really not sure of what I was "supposed" to be doing. Then it dawned on me, anything that I want to do, it's OK to do. I really enjoy my alone time now, it took some work to figure this out. I am very comfortable with who I am and where I am at in my life.

Cleaning my house energizes me and makes me very happy. I love to clean my house, open the windows, clean the walls, get the ceilings and vents cleaned. Light incense and turn on the music and clean away. I have such a great sense of accomplishment when I am finished. Those little eraser sponge things are great, you get one of those bad boys in your hand and you can clean so much with so little effort. I think these things just amaze me, kind of like a fax machine.

A plate of really cheesy nachos and a good movie with my family. We don't watch to much television, but every now and then the boys will come up with a good movie and want to watch it together. This is a special time now that they have gotten older and with trying to get everyone together at one time.

My blogging makes me very happy. I have met so many wonderful people. Leaned so much from so many. A place to talk about my day and read of others and their day. A place to come when I am having a not so great day, to be reminded that there are others out there so much worse off then you are, so quit your whining. A place to laugh, a place to cry, a place to learn new things, a place to make you really think and a place to give your a reality check.

A Couple of Completed Hearts

Today is Monday, January 11, 2009. It is cold here, I mean really cold! Broke records last night and is supposed to be cold again tonight. The critters just amaze me, they go about their business just like it was 70 degrees out there. If I were a critter, I would have to be a bear, just sleep right on through it, wake up in the Spring.

Have had the flu along with young son the last couple of days. He is so demanding when he is not feeling good. He is a MIT, Man In Training and doing a very good job of it. LOL

Did finish a Valentines Heart Bag and a couple of lavender sachets finished up. Hope to get them listed tomorrow and get some better pictures taken with real day light. Finished getting orders packed tonight and ready to go to the Post Office tomorrow. Even got all of the customs forms filled out. Usually I will run short one or two, but not this time.

The house is clean again and have got the laundry caught up. Had to use the dryer and oh, do I miss hanging my clothes on the line. Not to mention that they wait on me to have time to take them down and fold. Not the dryer, leave them alone in there for five minutes and they are a real mess.

Hubby will be home this Saturday until Monday noon. So looking forward to him being home. Young son misses him the most of the kids. He is his fathers son, they are two peas in a pod. Then I don't know when he will be home again. I guess I had better figure out how long he will be gone or just figure three weeks on his food.

Made bread yesterday, it was so good, pistachio with slivered almonds. It looked funny being green, but it was really good. My daughter was over and said mom, is that pistachio? Yes it is. Well do you think I could take some of this home? Why not? LOL

It so has to get warmer soon, don't know how much more of this my heater can take. It has never worked this hard, not even in the summer. When I got up this morning the house was 65, the thermostat was set at 70. I think it is time to invest in a wood stove.

Two Out Of Three Sites Updated

Today is Wednesday, January 6, 2010. The sun did come out today even if it was still cold and cloudy. It was a beautiful sight to see! The little sparrows were here today enough of them to make it look like the ground was moving. Had to send young son out to get one out of the feeder. How they get in there and can't get out is beyond me, but they do. The squirrels are the funniest when this happens. Looks like a mime trying to get out of a box.

Was able to stay focused long enough today to get my web site cleaned up a bit and get the prices changed to reflect the new postal rates. Also got one selling venue done as well. Tomorrow to do the other and be done with that mess. Then I struggled with the Google Analytics for my site for a few hours and still not right. So going to put that off for a day or so.

My daughter and three of the grandkids came over this afternoon, a very welcome intrusion. She wants to take a weekend vacation, are you ready for this? To somewhere that has snow! I asked her if she was crazy. As cold as it has been here and she complains, what does she think it is going to be going north? I know mom, but I think it will be fun. OK little girl, if this is what you want to do, have fun. I reminded her that she could use my snow boots if she were going, she would for sure need them.

Hubby called tonight, computer issues. He said that he was using it and then it said low power. Well did you have it plugged into the electric or running it off of the battery? I thought I had it plugged in. You thought? Plug it in and make sure that all of the connections are in tight. I ordered a new power cord just in case he has a messed up one. I think it is the operator though. Then the television remote in his room quit working. Did you check the batteries, I sent you with extra batteries for your mouse and they should fit? Yeah, and it isn't working. Why don't you go take your shower and go to bed early tonight? Yeah, I think I will, it has been a bad hump day. LOL I so hope that he has a better day tomorrow, or he will be burning up the phone wanting me to fix things 7 hours away.

Tomorrow I will reward myself for getting all of the computer stuff finished and get to spend most of the day in my craft room! I have been throwing around this idea and now to try to make it work. Looks good in my head, now to make it happen.

Today is Monday, December 4, 2010. It was another COLD day here. I can't believe how cold it has been. Brenda you are so right, it would be warmer if it snowed! I am glad that you are feeling better. She has been MIA for almost a week now. Have stayed in sweats and my slippers most of the day. Sent sons to the feed store to get the critter food, nope I am not leaving my house.

I can't wait for spring! Even installed a countdown to spring counter, look right up there to the right. This being in the house all day and not much sun is getting the best of me. So this week I am going to start growing in pots in the house, when spring gets here I can put them outside. When that sun starts going down, oh my word, talk about the cold rolling in.

Didn't get all of the things that I wanted to get done today, but what else is new. The inventory for year end is done and I have filed my quarterly sales tax today! I am NOT a paper pusher so getting both of these things done and balancing the checkbook in one day is a huge success for me.

Tomorrow I will clean house on my web site. There are things that need to be cleaned up and links added and removed. Sales from there are doing amazing well for me the past couple of months. Even had three international sales! So I will work on that tomorrow.

Talked to hubby four times today. First at lunch, then after work, he was working on his truck, something about the turn signals. Then after his shower and then again at 11:30. I know the man well enough to know that this is not going to be a two year plan. When he is home we are in bed by no later than eleven, and he doesn't have to get up in the morning to go to work. He has to get up at 3:30 a.m., this means he is not sleeping.

I have a few new ideas for a few projects that I want to start on soon, but before I can start anything new, young son says he would really like it if I finished his quilt. Is that a hint or what? I know that if I get in there and just get to work on it, it could be finished in a couple of days. So I guess I will hit that hard and get it finished. LOL

Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live today. ~Brightest Blessings~

Colder than Cold

Today is Sunday, January 3, 2010. Let me tell you it is COLD here! In the teens for the next couple of weeks and there is no way I am going anywhere that I don't have to go. I will sit inside the comfort of a 70 degree home and watch the critters. The sparrows and cardinals have been here the last couple of days and they don't seem to mind the weather one bit. I still think that if it is going to be this cold here, then we should have the snow to go with it.

Hubby left about noon today, for what we are thinking three weeks, but as we have all seen, who knows how long. LOL He said that if he doesn't get the hours there that they had told him they were getting he is going to go to Charleston. It is only about four hours away instead of the seven. The only draw back is that some of the guys he worked with here have only been home twice since July. I just don't see him doing that. He tells me he is fat, dumb and happy right here at home. I tried to make it a better situation, if he worked for two years there, he could semi-retire. We would be debt free. So at least he left here in a little better spirit than the last time. Just twenty-four months and not have to worry about it.

Even though I try to make sense of all of this with him having to contract, I really hate it. No matter how much I try to make him feel better about it, no matter how much I tell him not to worry about the home front, I hate it. I miss getting his coffee in the morning, enjoying it together. I miss watching him out the window puttsing around the yard. I miss him and the boys having war of words at the dinner table. I miss him yelling, Baby what's wrong with this thing? Referring to the computer. I miss his touch, his smell, I miss him.

We had a wonderful New Year's eve, stayed at home and the kids dropped by one at a time. He had gotten a bushel of Oysters. No, I don't eat these things raw! UGH! He does and a couple of the boys do, so they were in heaven. We did steam a few and that was enough for me with the weather being so cold. Maybe it is just me, but I don't like to eat with my jacket on. Now if it were the summer and a bushel of blue claw crabs well, look out, I can throw them bad boys down.

I did my ritual and placed all of my crystals and tools out to be cleansed and charged. It was a beautiful Blue Moon, even with all of the clouds. So full of energy!
