So Ready For Yule

Today is Monday, December 20, 2010. We are back under freeze warnings again the last few days. I do think that if it is going to be this cold, we should get to have snow. The thought of having to go to the post office this morning just hurts my bones. Freeze warning is over at 9:00 this morning, high to be 60 degrees.

The candy is finished and ready to be delivered, this is one of the fifteen trays that are ready to go. The album is finished wrapped and ready to ship. This was a learning experience, however it turned out nice and keeping fingers crossed that they like it. Getting the pictures proved to be the biggest challenge. I learned that I can take pictures with my digital camera, load them onto my computer and send them right to Wal-Mart to be picked up all under one hour. George went to get the pictures, one child couldn't seem to get any more than two pictures, they were both of the back of the kids heads.

My Yule log is made and ready to burn tomorrow. Looking back on this year, there has sure been a lot of uncertainty. George working in SC, coming home for a day and a half every other week, not knowing where we were going to be living or for how long. Not knowing how long he was going to be working where. The kids were scattered out all over looking for work. They have all moved back, one a little further away than he was, but they are all working and doing much better. Grandchild #11 was also born this year! Hoping that we stay at #11 for a while.

Tomorrow is Yule, we will have a Lunar eclipse, which hasn't happened on Yule in 274 years and won't happen again until 2094. Hoping that we have clear skies tomorrow, so looking forward to enjoying my Yule ritual. Wishing all of you a Blessed Yule!

Dear Santa

Today is Saturday, December 11, 2010. Wow, has the cold weather set in here! We have had below freezing here at night for the last couple of weeks and suppose to continue through the next week too. Cloudy with a spray of rain, could we get snow? I can only dream.....

The last few weeks have been busy with getting things done, or trying to anyway. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in a day. But then if we had more hours, we would probably just try to get more out of them.

Today I am going to get my Yule Log made, I know, I usually have mine made by the first of December. Then to finish up the candy that has to be sent out in the mail Monday or Tuesday. Tomorrow I will start on the photo album for the in laws. George was able to get a couple of their old black and white photos when they were first married. Those will be used for the cover, going to have to get the wood tomorrow and get moving on it. Shouldn't take about three days to get done. She complains that she never gets "real" pictures any more. So I thought I would get the kids to take pictures of them selves with wives and their kids, passing a disposable camera around. This started about three months ago and I have one that has gave me back the camera. UGH...

The girls are doing fine and still laying, this makes me so proud of them with all of this cold weather. I think they are starting to take to different boxes to lay in. The eggs are in four different boxes now instead of just two. The babies are getting bigger, but I do believe that they are all males. While clipping their wings last weekend I checked they legs and all of them have nubs. Not to mention they are doing the bowing up to each other. I am hoping that maybe next spring one of the girls will want to sit, I think they are still to young yet. That would be so cool.

I still haven't gotten my computer back up and running, not sure when I am going to have time to do it at this point. Maybe after the holidays are over and things are back to normal or at least my normal.
