Thank You Mother Moon

Today is Tuesday, November 3, 2009. It was a little warmer today than the last couple of days, but no air conditioner. It sure is getting cooler at night, as soon as the sun goes down, grab a jacket.

I did get three weeks of food cooked for hubby who will be here Friday. Was also able to get most of the short bread cookies cooked this evening as well. Claire posted a recipe and I just had to try them. They are very easy and oh yummy. I think the boys were eating them almost as
fast as I was baking them. So I had their approval.

I have to tell you about Mother Moon's Message giveaway. If you haven't been to her blog, you are really missing something special. I have cried with her, laughed with her and been inspired by her. She doesn't know it, but she made me really think about something the other night while reading her blog. No one really likes change, however change can be a good thing.

I have resisted moving and to tell you the truth, I don't really know why. I love my house and my yard, but without my husband it is really not a home. There are no jobs here, the property taxes seem to be doubling every year, there is no shopping here. Walmart moved in and all of the little stores are closed down now. We have to drive a hundred miles just to purchase craft supplies or go shopping for anything.

We raise our kids to be happy, healthy productive adults and they are. They don't need us to live right here. They have their own lives and raising their families keeps them pretty busy. So unless something is planned for the most part, it is very hard to get them all together.

I have decided to let it go....Stop fighting or resisting renting a house in SC and see what new adventures are there for us. We will always have our home here and if we decide that this is no longer our home here, then we can sell it with no regrets. None.....

So thank you Mother Moon, I am looking forward to the change and what it has to bring. I will no longer make excuses as to why we shouldn't or can't.

She is offering this beautiful set of Runes that she has made from offerings of her Willow trees during a storm. A very generous offering, it is just a gorgeous giveaway.

Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live today.~Brightest Blessings~

  1. Oh Dede, a new adventure! Isn't it sad all the local businesses losing out to the big bad chain stores. It is happening here too and it makes me think of the people working so hard to get their shops to stay afloat with such competition. Best of luck with the move and I hope my recipe went well and your children do not have food poisioning from my post haha!! Big hugs to you Dede!!

  2. change... such a lovely word... sometimes I dislike it as much as that exercise word...it is a difficult thing yet also a wonderful adventure just as you put... A positive attitude as you seem to have can only make it that much more fun... Thank you so much for your kind words your are a dear... Your post hit home in many ways.. esp in regards to children... This is a lesson I have been learning this last year... Yet the beautiful thing I learned was that this extra time you have been given is time to focus on Dede.. I think it is the reason that women get better as they get older.... Best stop or I am going to have my own blog post within your comments... love you dear.. have a wonderful day...

  3. Dede, you had quite an emiphany, didn't you? And now think of the new horizons and adventures that await you!

As wives and mothers, we are usually so busy taking care of everyone else, and everything, that we sometimes don't see our newly found (and earned) freedom, even when it is dancing before our eyes.

Our kids grow up and don't need our immediate nurturing, they go off and make their own paths. Too often we look at this as a bad thing. We are left behind with what? We rattle around in empty homes, listless, feeling without purpose.

Instead, we need to change our focus. We are still young, but wiser. A perfect time to expand our own horizons, explore interests that have lain dormant for lack of time, energy, and yes, even money.

Mother Moon sparked the flame, but you were there to recognize it, and fan it into full light. Now it is time, my dear, for you to spread your gorgeous wings!
Just remember to keep in touch so that we can share in your discoveries, both about yourself, and what you are experiencing!

  4. Dang fingers don't want to cooperate sometimes. Ephiphany! You had an ephiphany. .not whatever it was that I typed before. rofl

    More hugs!

  5. Just wanted to say you have a beautiful blog. I found you thru Chris at Prim Country Farms. Although I am not a wiccan I do love the cycles of nature and can appreciate living a life attuned to the earth. Have a good day!

  6. Good for you Dede! Change is not an easy word - but I think some times our resistance to it is what makes it so difficult. Once we let go, we realize that the rest is rather easy.

If your home is your husband, and he is in SC - then that's where you need to be too. I'm not sure where you are, but it seems that if he can get home to you, then you can always get home to see your kids and their families.

Looking forward to hearing about this journey of yours!

    Blessings to you.

  7. Oh Dede that is so exciting. I am happy for you and just imagine a new adventure.

    Love Renee xoxo

  8. Oh Dede...how wonderful that you look at it that way - whoo hoo!!! I love your attitude hon!! I love shortbread too..yummmm!
I am off to visit the Mother Moon..whoo hoo!!
Hugs hon..know I am here if ya need me!!
    Hugs, Sarah

  9. Dede, a new adventure how exciting!! You may discover you love it!! As I've said before my husband is from Florida and has lived up North for me so I could remain close to my family. After my parents passed we moved to NC for a year and although neither of us liked it there and we came back. We would not have changed anything that we did during that year or that we came back. The fact is we did it and unless you try it you'll never know. Change is scary but it truly can be wonderful. We've reached that point in our lives as well that our son is grown and I am so ready to reconnect with my husband, time for us. Ready to grab the bull by the horns and ride the next stage of our lives. Embrace, Enjoy and Evolve...

It was nice of you to take time out of your busy day to stop by. Blessings to you and your family! (((HUGS)))
