A Productive Day and A Three Day Weekend

Today is Thursday, December 10, 2009. The days have been cloudy but warm. Yesterday rained most of the afternoon and early evening. The winds were really wild. I do think there is
lots to clean up out there. Just not today.

Things seem to be OK with daughter and son in law. They were here today picking up her brothers for the night. A night of video games and movies, and I am sure junk food. LOL So I am thankful that all is well with them.

Son #3 I am still unsure of what is going on with him and to be honest, I don't think he knows what is going on with him. I do know that he needs to get to work if not here, then back home. What concerns me with him, it just doesn't seem to bother him not to be working. That concerns me....

Anyway I did get this tote finished today for a very special friend for Yule. One side is done in Halloween, the other side is done in Yule and the sides are Spring and Summer. Going to send her a surprise package. Just for her, everything in it. No dishes, crock pots, pots or pans, just stuff for her.

Got the banana bread made last night which daughter took two loaves with her today on the way out the door while son #3 ate a loaf of last night while it was warm. So we have three loaves left. That's not bad in this house to have half a batch left on the second day.

Started cleaning the kitchen ceiling and almost finished will finish it tonight. That is a job that you have to finish no putting it off. LOL

Hubby called today at four. He never calls me at four so I figured something was wrong. He wasn't a happy camper. Said that he had the next three days off AGAIN and was coming home. OK...... They are waiting on engineers so that they can go forward, so the leads told them to take off the next three days. I sure hope that he feels better in the next seven hours before he gets here. So supper will be about eleven thirty tonight, so I will be eating cheese and crackers before then for sure.

So now I am off to the kitchen ceiling to get that finished before he gets here and make supper. I am hoping he will just be happy to be home for the weekend and not upset about the last minute three day weekend again this week. I bet he brings me a gift of dirty laundry, wanna bet? LOL

Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live today. ~Brightest Blessings~

  1. Dede, the tote is beautiful!!! Love the all season idea!! Lucky girl to receive such a wonderful gift and such a great friend you are to being giving it. Yummy I love bannana bread with butter, could you pass me some please. I bet by the time gets home he will be glad to have three days off especially at this time of year.

I did go back and looked at the picture of your craft room and I did see the picture I created. LOL, I was so engrossed in the fabrics I didn't notice it at first. All I could think about was looking and touching all of that fabric, I love it!! Of coarse you can create so much more with it than I could since I can't sew, lol.

Enjoy your long weekend with your hubby!!

  2. Hope your weekend turns out great. Tell hubby he is taking you out on the town - enjoy yourself!

Also good to hear that nothing too serious is going on with the kids. Young son is likely feeling a little lost. Hopefully he'll find some direction. Likely a little disappointed life hasn't turned out so great after graduation. It was a shock for us all!
