Time To Get Back To Work

Today is Monday, January 18, 2009. It is a beautiful day, the sun is shining, but you still need to wear a jacket. Yesterday the wind was wild. I have never seen it like it was, strong and constantly changing direction. Watching the tiny sparrows sitting on the feeder, I wondered how they were able to stay put. This stag horn still has some green to it, keeping fingers crossed.

It was a good weekend. The universal joints, both front and rear had to be changed on the truck. So we did that first, knowing that the weather was going to get bad. Neither one of us wanted to be out in the pouring rain. Didn't seem to take to long to do, nothing like the Jeep. LOL

We had a great Mexican dinner on Friday with the daughter and her family. My grand daughter made me pictures. She cut out pictures that she had colored in her coloring book, placed them on napkins and then used little stickers to hold them. She is only eight but wants to learn to scrap book. I have never done real scrap booking other than in my BOS. So I will try to get a "kit" to get her going, see if she really likes doing it. Maybe this weekend I will have her spend the night and her and I can see if we can start scrap booking together. There are a couple of little cutting machines that if she stays with it, I will have to get for her.

Thanks to Mother Moon's Message, I found a blog Bogaman's Blog. He has some really neat posts. There is one of a "chicken tractor". This is going to be one of my projects here in the next couple of weeks. Mama thought I was crazy, hubby thinks if that's what you want to do. Yes, this is something that I want to do. Very cool, thank you "X" !

Hubby dug out the tiller while he was here. It needs a carburetor. So will have to take it to the shop and get one. Have to have her running very soon. The wood pile has dwindled to nothing with the two weeks of freezing cold. So, that is another project that is going to have to been done this week. Yeah, get to work in the yard this week, weather promiting .

Hubby has left, so it is time to get busy, finish up projects, get the yard cleaned up and wood split and stacked. That wind made a real mess yesterday, limbs, moss, and mistletoe scattered throughout the yard. My craft room is in no better shape than the yard. Grand daughter let me know this.

Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live today. ~Brightest Blessings~

  2. Glad you got your hubby for a few days! I hope the Staghorn makes it - I'm always so sad when one of my plants doesn't survive the Winter.

Our weather sounds the same - very windy here the last few days, and then beautiful today! Almost tricks me into thinking Spring is here...almost!
