A Do Nothing Weekend

Today is Monday, February 1, 2010. It was another cloudy, rainy day. Cool enough to be wearing a jacket, supposed to be 33 degrees again tonight.

George was here for his day and a half. He is still sick and I think he should have stayed there and not traveled. He needs to rest and he can't rest driving 14 hours. I know that he wants to come home, I want him home too, but he has got to get some rest in order to get well.

He got in late Friday night and looked rough. So he got cleaned up and went to bed. He slept until almost eleven. When he got up he sounded better and looked better too. He spent the day stretched out on the couch, channel surfing. We all went out to dinner and it was nice.

Saturday night he didn't sleep at all for coughing. I asked him to go to the doctor. I knew what the answer to that was going to be, but I thought I would try. He gets so winded so quick doing nothing. I am not a doctor, but I know this is not a good thing.

Needless to say he was exhausted after driving seven hours back. When he got there he called to let me know. Told him to turn the heat up before getting a shower. He was going to unload the truck and then get cleaned up. Well, he fell asleep before unloading the truck. Someone took his cooler of cooked food. Good thing all of his dry goods were locked up in his tool box. He still has about ten days worth of cooked food in the freezer.

Worked around the house today, just picking up and getting things put away. It's just young son and I, son #5 is over at his sister's house. We made a scramble for dinner and are just hanging out. Tomorrow I should be able to get a couple of projects finished up. Then to start a new lap quilt, this one I am really excited about.

Wishing everyone a Blessed Imbolc! Will have a house full of lit candles.

Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live today. ~Brightest Blessings~

  1. I thought about you on Saturday evening, and was hoping that you were enjoying your dinner date! It's just too bad that your hubby is sick, and like most men, refusing to get medical attention until it gets so bad that recovery is even longer.
And how sad that someone took his food! My only hope, while not excusing what they did, is that someone who is truly deperately hungry and can't afford to buy food, found it, and not just someone who is too lazy to fix their own, or buy it prepared.
That's still a low blow to steal a guy's food! Maybe your hubby shouldn't brag about your cooking so much! :-)

Savor your quiet time, and stay well! I can hardly wait to see what you have up your creative sleeve this time!

  2. a weekend doing nothing can be just what one needs sometimes... sorry to hear George is under the weather as well as his food being taken... Hope he is feeling better soon... I know what you mean about him not driving yet sometimes Dede you may be the best medicine he needs.... Stay warm and have a very blessed Imbolc...

  3. Well I hope George feels better soon. I know what helped me withstand the upper respiratory infection I had recently was Mucinex DM. It really thinned out the mucous and made breathing much easier. Yes it is too bad that George's food got taken. Glad he still has the dried goods.Hope you are having a wonderful candlelit Imbolc!

  4. Oyyyy men are so stubborn..hope he gets better soon..ackkk!!
Blessed Imbolc to you too hon! Hope you are well yourself and enjoying the day!! Thinking of you..hugs and love, Sarah

It was nice of you to take time out of your busy day to stop by. Blessings to you and your family! (((HUGS)))
