Awesome Weekend

Today is sunday March 7, 2010. The weekend weather has been wonderful. The temperatures have been in the sixties, no rain and lots of sun. Still cool enough to be wearing a jacket, but nothing like it has been. Buds are appearing on the little chain tree.

George came in Thursday night, he had some business to take care of on Friday, so we had two full days together. We went to get a mocha on Saturday before going to the flea market, but they were no longer open on Saturdays, bummer deal. So off to the flea market we went and grabbed a hot chocolate there. I was so excited, we found a lawn mower for $75 that looks brand new and starts so easy. The man that we purchased it from is also going to build us a tiller! It will be ready this coming weekend. Then we found another large cooler, remember that George had his taken from his truck in SC, and it was only $30. The best thing about this is that if anything needs to be repaired, I know where to take it to. George knows this guy from many years back.

So the next time he is in town, it will be building my mobile chicken coup and getting the chicks. That will be in three weeks. I am so excited about getting the chickens. Never have had them before, have heard horror stories about trying to get the eggs when the chicken didn't want you to have them. Should be interesting to say the least, but a learning experience for sure.

Saturday I cooked the remainder of the day for the next three weeks. He had stuff to do in the yard and he and the boys had to go get hair cuts and get some new shorts for the summer. It was like a guys afternoon for them. This was wonderful for me. Was able to turn on the music and cook away! No one under foot to see what I was doing. Like what else would I be doing in the kitchen. LOL

Sunday came and and it was time for him to return to work. He arrived back in SC about eight tonight. Son #5 and I went to see mama. She and her friends had been at the flea market too! I don't think that woman is ever still. Then off to get groceries for the house and home to cook dinner. It was very quiet at dinner tonight, unlike the last two nights.

Replanted five trees that we are going to to replace pines with. George had talked me into cutting down a few pines a couple of years ago. I fought him, didn't want to cut any trees down. But, he was right, the grass is growing and the oaks are really filling out nicely. They are going to be great shade trees. The acid in the pine needles was killing the grass no to mention what it does to the pool. I want to keep the pines in the back of the house for the animals.

The weather is supposed to be in the seventies this week. If so, it will be an open up the house week for sure. Not to mention, outside for some fun.

Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live today. ~Brightest Blessings~
