A Nice Weekend

Today is Tuesday, July 6, 2010. The storms have continued to roll in this weekend and suppose to continue through today. The squirrels are at the feeder this morning, I don't know where they have been the last few weeks. The cardinals have enjoyed the feast of food without them. They have been and gone already this morning.

Called mama on Sunday about ten thirty, asked what she was doing. She let me to know that she "was" sleeping. Well glad you got to sleep in, now get dressed I will be there in a little bit to pick you up. Of course she used my first and middle name. She spent most of the day with us. Even with the rain, George smoked ribs. He said he wouldn't melt, I confirmed that.

Have been able to make a game of trying to sew and finish up projects. With the storms, the power goes on and off. So while it is off I cut fabric then when it comes back on I sew. Didn't want to take the chance of making the buttons (clay), wasn't sure what it would do to them in the oven. So I have them ready to bake when I think it will be safe to do so.

George and son #5 went to see the fireworks. Young son doesn't like them. I think they scared him when he was little, he has never liked loud noises. So he and I stayed home, he wanted to work on his math. That blew me away, it's Sunday and you want to work on Math? What's up with that?

I hope that everyone had a great weekend and was safe! Wishing everyone a productive day!

Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live today.~Brightest Blessings~

  1. Dede - I love this post. Sounds like you are all settling in to a lovely summer storm routine. :) I do the same thing here: cut things out and stack them, so if the power goes out, I can sew on buttons, etc. Then that stack goes next to the machine. :) I love that your son is doing his math. He sounds like an up and coming Bill Gates! :) xox!

  2. sweetie please send up the storms!! We are in a nasty heat wave up here lol
