One Week Today in SC

Today is Tuesday, April 27, 2010. It was cloudy and windy most of the day yesterday, no rain. I was thankful for that. There is so much of that red clay here and it so hard to clean up.

Made a chocolate cake and got the spaghetti made and into the crock pot for dinner. The boys were really good about getting on their school work and getting it done. I told George that if I ever complain about the counter space at home, just slap me.

Son #5 was really missing home yesterday. He told me mom, I miss my room, my stuff, my car. I laughed when he said car. He is a putters like his dad, ready to get to work on something everyday. There isn't to much to putts here. He takes Doc for lots of walks, which Doc doesn't seem to mind.

Young son came back from taking Doc and informed me that Doc embarrassed him. Puzzled by how Doc could have done this I asked how. He was "talking" to a female Shepard and her owners were laughing at him. Well we all know how much Doc likes to "talk". I was proud of him for only talking to her.

It has been one week today that we arrived here in SC, it truly seems like so much longer. Not sure how long this is going to last, as long as need be, but I am certain of one thing, we all miss home.

Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live today. ~Brightest Blessings~

  1. Aw, Dede! You all sound so homesick. The good thing is when you do get home, you are all going to be so happy. :) When we moved out here from CA, my kids were very sad. I think that's the hardest part, when your kids are blue. Sending you all hugs!! xox Pam

  2. You're homesick. But, just think of how much more you will treasure your home when you get there.

  3. I'm sorry you're homesick! I think when we travel to other places we can better reflex on what really matters. Sending hugs to you my friend! And thanks again for helping me your directions are ones I can actually follow!:) Becca

  4. I left you an Award on my blog so fly by and check it out!

  5. sorry to hear you are homesick.. the picture above is absolutely beautiful.. what a view... enjoy these moments and remember why you went... hugs dear

  6. Dede I am so sorry you are homesick. But remember home is where your love ones are. And I know once you get back to your safe haven you will be happy as a lark but until then you will be fine. Because we are all sending you lots of energy and love. I wish I could reach out and hold your hand and let you know we all care for you and love you. So Dede until you get back to your safe haven we are here for you!!
    Love you gal
P.S. Thank you for helping me in my time of need. I hope I can help you now!!

  7. Such a beautiful picture!! LOL Dede, you have counter space in your RV, lucky girl. I don't know how people travel the country in them things. Sorry to hear your all homesick sweetie, it will fly by you wait and see. You are so right though at least you are all together which has to be a wonderful feeling for all of you.

    ((Big Hugs))

  8. Awwww, Dede, I feel so badly for you all. You all sound so homesick, and yet you are trying to make the best of the situation. And if your kids are unhappy, then that alone is going to make you down too, because you're going to feel torn.

You know, if this reaches a point where you all are so miserable, there is no failure in going back home earlier than planned. You can be proud that you have given it a try, and you'll never have to wonder "what if". This way too, you'll know what works and what doesn't for when you use your RV for future trips.

Rainy and cold weather can be confining when you are home, but the kids, especially seem to forget that. But hopefully, you'll get some nice weather soon, and you all will be able to get out and explore the area more, and find reasons to delight in having this adventure.

Oh. .and Dede. .his comment WAS funny, but you could tell George that you are under the affects of whatever it was that those sheep rolled in before they were sheared! lol

  9. Sorry to hear about the rain and the tight spaces. The joys of RV-ing. I do hope you find a way to make it work. I remember how excited you were at first. It really will be nice to get home for you though!

It was nice of you to take time out of your busy day to stop by. Blessings to you and your family! (((HUGS)))
