Red Watching The Girls

Today is Tuesday, September 21, 2010. It has still be in the 90's here and really no sign of Fall other than the pine cones seem to be coming down. It was suppose to be in the high 80's this week, however I think that the 95 degrees yesterday blew that out of the water. Was really looking forward to the cooler temperatures.

Have been getting lots of baking done this last week, almost ahead and then on to getting the candy made. So looking forward to doing the candy, always so much fun, all but the dipping in chocolate. That seems to take forever to do and never seem to have enough counter space to work on.

Was able to get a couple of things cut out and almost ready to sew. So maybe after the laundry is all hung out, I can get back to that.

The roosters got into it two days ago. Red had an attitude from the start of his day and the white one was going to try to rule him. Well, Red took off after him, the white one ran right down into the bamboo. That bamboo isn't the place to run, it's like running into a corner. It is so thick and he got himself trapped. Lucky for him Red couldn't get in the same way he did. So I chased Red back into the coop, it allowed the white one to get himself out. I set up the dog kennel and put the white one in there for the day. The kennel is going to be their "cooling off" place. Yesterday they were okay together, however the white one really didn't mess with Red to much. I know boys will be boys, but I sure hope that don't do that again.

Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live today.~Brightest Blessings~

  2. Hi there dear one! You are the productive one. How can you stand baking in this heat?
Those cinnamon rolls look so yummy. I miss stuff like that so much and bread. I eat gluten free bread, but it is just not the same. I bet it is so rewarding to gather eggs and eat them. They taste so much better fresh like that.
OMG!! Thank you for that store widget, you are so sweet.
Wow, I have to check those out.
You made my day, thank you!
    Love and hugs.

  3. I sure do love hearing about your girls and the roosters. Reminds me of my grandma's chickens...and yes, they can be mischievous little critters. I used to have a great recipe for candy. It was a combo of mashed potatoes with coconut dipped in chocolate. Forget what else was in them, but they tasted just like Mounds.

  7. Hi Dede! I love your chickens! When I was little, the lady down the street had chickens, and one of my jobs was to ride my bike down there and get fresh eggs. :) We had a few days of lovely cool weather, and today it is suppose to be hot again. I am DONE with hot! lol! I hope it cools off there soon for you guys. xoxo!! Pam

  8. I so wish we could have chickens in our city limits, but I know my neighbors would report me, so I'll just watch yours. Please do start the candy soon, and send some my way? I really don't know how you do it all.
