Not Slowing Down and The Holidays Are Over

Today is Wednesday, January 19, 2011. We have had cold weather and loads of rain. It rained all night and is still raining. Hoping that when the sun rises, it will bring us some warmth to dry up all of this water.

I thought when the holidays were over, it would bring the calm back to our lives. Not so, seems that things are still running at high speed. While the kids were scattered out all over looking for work, things didn't seem to be so busy and now with them all back in town, well things are back to the normal busy.

We have two grand daughters that love the little yellow fellow, Sponge Bob. So I have been busy making pillows, totes, bean bags and quilts of this little guy. And of course, everything has to be made in twos. The second quilt is almost finished, hope to have it done by Friday, Saturday is her birthday. Still have one grand son that I haven't made a quilt for so he will be next. It seems so hard to find little boy fabric, little girls on the other hand, there seems to be such a variety out there.

The in laws really liked their photo album, and everyone was thrilled with the candy. And to think that in just eleven short months, I get to do it all over again. George is working out of town again, this time he is only two and a half hours away. He will be home in two weeks, I think. The up side to this is that in thirty days he will be back home working an hour away from the house.

Update on mom getting her money back, she has gotten so far all but $650. The guy didn't bother to send her a check one month so I sent him a text message and so far so good. Keeping fingers crossed that he will continue to send her checks.

George should be calling soon and then back to working on that quilt. Wishing for a nice evening to enjoy our full moon tonight.

Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live today. ~Brightest Blessings~

  1. Even though things are still running at high speed around your world, it's nice to see a posting.

Glad your Christmas went so well.

Enjoy your quilting. Seems like a great thing to be doing, when the weather is kind of ick. :-)

  3. So nice to hear from you Dede! I'm glad things are going well with Mom getting some of her money back. Hopefully the guy will follow through with the rest.

It's nice that you've not had too much ice or snow - but rain does get tiresome too. I hope you get some sun coming your way.

Glad to hear that hubby doesn't have to work out of town for too long too!

Hugs to you - and take a break once in a while!
