A Long Time

Today is Monday, March 5, 2012. The sun has been shining for two days now! Might not seem like much to some, but we have had some really cloudy, glummy weather for the longest time. It is warmer today than yesterday, spring is coming. The fig tree is showing off, it is turning green.

So much has been happening, it is time to slow it down and get things back to our normal in this house. It is back to just George, young son and I living in our house. What a blessing that is! Things stay put and the quiet is so nice.

I can't believe how quickly time has just flown by! It is March! Last month young son turned 16. While making his cake it dawned on me, I couldn't remember what we had done last year for his birthday or what we had gotten him, I had not idea and couldn't seem to remember at all. So I asked him what we did last year and he said mom you were in the hospital, we didn't do anything. I was dumb founded, I was missing time. It wasn't that I couldn't remember, I had never lived it. Now this got me to thinking......

How much time did I lose? How do the elders with Alzheimer's deal with the confusion on what we call their good days? Maybe what we consider their good days really are not good days for them. There is so much of last year that I didn't live and therefor is no way for me to remember. What a weird very strange feeling that is.

But I have been busy with getting thing made for family and things for my Etsy shop. With George working out of town and not having a car but one day a week, I haven't stocked my shop. Well he is suppose to be coming back home to work next week! I am so thrilled!

This is a lap quilt that I made for dad.

This is one I made for mom, it is finished now and she has it.

This is one that young son needed, he had out grown his older one.

This one was made for a very special sweet friend.

This was made for my husband for Valentine's day.

These are what I have been up to along with a few other things. They are so enjoyable to make. Lots of exercise for my arm cutting all of the squares. I am working on another one now for another sweet friend that I have missed for a very long time. She has has had a complete hip replacement after many, many years of pain she found a doctor to get with the program. She is healing now and world look out when she is better! We won't be able to stop her or slow her down!

Will be working on getting pictures and restocking Brightest Blessing's shop this week. Not much will get done tomorrow, I have to have another CT Pet Scan, there was a "hot spot" on the last one. I am not worried I do believe it is where the wire is coming out. The doctor cut some and George has been cutting it as it comes to the surface. What a pain in the neck, for real, this has been. Just about the time you think it is going to heal up , here comes some more. So we shall see what tomorrow brings, oh and did I tell you, George is on his way home.

Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live today! ~Brightest Blessings~

  2. I have been so so worried about you. You just don't know, I have binged your name repeatedly. (I don't google anymore) I am so happy to see my old friend back. This is the highlight of my day.
Those quilts are beautiful. Simply beautiful, I know how much work they are. I have made exactly one, and that is all I will ever make.
Welcome back to us, your faithful followers.
    We missed you.

  3. I'm so glad to see your post today. I've missed you. You are so very, very talented. All of those quilts are so lovely. Many years ago I tried my hand at quilting, but never had the knack so I stuck with crochet and jewelry. Alas, today the eyesight is not so good and the fingers not as nimble as they once were, so creating blogs is the way I go.

  4. Hi Dede so wonderful to see you here again! We have missed you. Your quilts are so beautiful! I wish I could sew. I have a machine and tried to make twisted little dolls, but I did not get too far. I think the art of sewing and quilting is best left to talented folks like you! :)
