Another Week Started

Today is Monday, April 1, 2013.  The weather has been nice the last couple of days, we got more yard work done in the last couple of days than in months.  However, this week we are supposed to have storms.  And by the looks of it the storms will be here soon.

This weekend George was off the four days but we decided to get some yard work done before the weather turns bad and it takes forever for the ground to dry up.  I don't know if it is because we have had so much rain, but it seems like it takes a good week to get rid of the muck in the yard.  But all in all it is shaping up pretty good. The fence needs to be painted too, but we are getting it done.

Got the french vanilla bread and muffins baked, sugar cookies and cupcakes baked. Then got them decorated and delivered to where they needed to be.

We had our BBQ steaks on Saturday because we were waiting to hear if George had to work on Sunday or not.  He got a call at 5:40 they didn't need to come in until Monday. YES!  So George put his phone on the charger and about eight noticed that his buddy and boss man had been blowing up his phone. He called his buddy to find out what was going on, the plane made it in and they had to work Sunday, George said no, no I will see you on Monday morning at five. I say good man!

Went to see mom yesterday and she hasn't been feeling so hot, so I will take her some soup and stuff later on today and a plate of supper too, just in case she is feeling better. Sometimes I think she is like a little kid, if I play sick I get extra attention.

So this afternoon I plan on getting some sewing done and the placemats for the RV finished. Then to move on to getting the curtains made and the window boxes redone. So much to do......

~Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live today!~ Brightest Blessing

    1. I enjoy baking, have cut the batch sizes way down. The cookies were really good they were gone with a quickness.

  2. Glad you had a good Sunday Easter...just need to rest sometimes.
I think my mom is like that, in pretending she needs something, just so someone will go and visit.
so I make up excuses to drop in.
    I like this blog page.

    1. Lisa she seems to be doing it more and more. I tried to get her to come move in with us but she wanted no part of it. I have noticed that she really can't see well and that in itself scares me. The blog page is one of bloggers, not talent needed there.

  3. Hi Dede! Look at those delicious treats! I am always hungry after I come to your blog, I wonder why? I think moms have a hard time asking for help since we are usually the ones taking care of everyone else. You're a good daughter to bring her soup. You get more done in two days than I get done in a month! :) xox

    1. Pam I don't mind doing things for her or taking her places and she knows it. It does make me crazy playing guessing games with her though. I have to say that her behavior lately kind of scares me a little,at what point do you say give me the keys you aren't driving any more? Thanks for stopping sweet lady!

  4. The cupcakes are so clever! Will have to keep that in mind for the Grands for next year. But then May Day is coming up....
Yoborobo hit the nail on the head when she said that Moms have a hard time asking for help. I know I do. Does your state have a law about the elderly and driving? I know here in Colorado after a certain age, everyone has to take (and pass) an actual driving test in order to keep their license. It's hard when that time comes. I do hope she is feeling better.
Proud of your Hubby sticking to his guns and not going into work! When my Hubby worked at the airport (custom cabinet builder) in Arkansas, it seemed like his boss was all about getting the most out of everyone for the least amount of payment. Why can't the ones in charge realize that it's the workers who keep the company in business?
Thanx for encouraging words about the rv! I'm really looking forward to it!

    1. Jeanne you are going to love the RV! At first I wasn't so sure about it but now, I can't wait to get rolling. I am working on making the curtains for the bedroom now and covering the lamp shades to match. We don't have any kind of law regarding elders and driving so when that time comes it really is left up to family members. I am not one to tell someone what they can and can't do, but when it comes to others lives, then I will have to speak up. The cupcakes are super easy and the kids love to make them. George has been sticking to his guns about work hours more and more lately and I am proud of him.
