Camo Tote Finished and Seeds Planted

Today is Sunday, March 29, 2009. It has rained a much needed rain here the last two days. My little dogwood tree is starting to get leaves and the big oak tree in the front yard, that two days ago had nothing but pollen, is now full of leaves. Got my sponges and gourds planted Friday, love to grow these. The earth is so fertile this time of year.

Finished up my daughters camo tote. I don't fully understand this trend of camo, however everyone seems to like it, even the females. There is even a pink camo design now.

Started cutting the fabric last night for my next project, and I am really looking forward to this one. I have no pattern to make this so it should be fun. Trying to find some fabric with children on it for a tote that I am donating for the St.Judes charity auction, have a little time to find just the right fabrics. That one has to be extra special, it is for some really extra special people.

Sales have been slow this month. However on the up side, a friend of mine told me she had "checked out" my Bonanzle booth and I really need to let her have some items in her store on consignment. So next week I will be taking items there.

If sales are slow, how in the world could I be so far behind on speical orders? I have seven projects that need to get finished up and new ones started. This flu has really kicked me, never had one to do me this bad.

Today is Tuesday, March 24, 2009 and a cloudy day it is. That's ok we really need the rain. My little Maple tree is looking very well, would love to have some of that fresh rain water. I finally went to the doctor yesterday, a five hour deal! Only went to make mom happy, she will be 75 in July. AuctionWally was on it too. Killed two birds with one stone. Now on 5 different meds, 2 twice a day, 2 once a day and one at three times a day. No we couldn't be all the same.

So I am supposed to have my voice back in four or five days. You would think that they would all love mom not having a voice. Grand baby #10 has been born, another boy. I haven't seen him yet. I know, I am bad, but by the time you have ten, well there is just no sense of urgency.
Kind of like baby #1 has a completed baby book, baby #2 is half filled out and #3 doesn't even have a baby book.

I have finished up my other tote, "Dancers". I really enjoy making these. This one is also for a friend. Truly hope she enjoys it. Bettye from Bonanzle Booth SomethingPretty also made the button cover for this one. She does such beautiful work and so sweet. If you don't see what you need, just contact her. She had drawings for me the same day and was within the week that I had them in my hand.

Today is Wednesday, March 18, 2009. The sun is shinning and the breeze is blowing. I truly hope all summer is like this. No air conditioner yesterday and it looks like another one today. Have used the grill most of the week for cooking and the clothes line for drying. What I save in the electric bill this month, I can spend at some of my favorite Bonanzle booths! hehehe

New Moon Pads Bonanzle Booth

Today is Tuesday, March 17, 2009 and a very fine day. A few clouds in the sky with a little breeze, nice days ahead. The critters are enjoying it, they are all over the place. Had to rescue a bird out of the feeder this morning. Poor little guy got in and couldn't get out. He is free again.

Today I want to share with you and I know for some this is a delicate subject, however a fact of life, a Bonanzle Booth New Moon Pads , specializing in cloth menstrual pads, postpartum pads and incontinent pads. Renee is the owner and one of the sweetest people you will ever work with. Always a positive attitude and so much fun!

Now I don't know about you, but I hate waste! I take my canvas totes with me to the stores, I hate plastic, I have a burn barrel in the yard for paper trash, we save jars for storage, I reuse packing material and the list goes on. Think green!

Renee also has Sweet Cheeks diapers. She has been in business since 1990 and is there to help you with all of your questions. Never be embarrassed to ask her questions. She really is a joy!

In reading her information, this is a little disturbing, "US women landfill or incinerate 11.3 billion menstrual products each year." I found this on her page along with lots of other facts, that aren't well known and the companies of the disposable menstrual products are NOT going to tell you. A terrific read, some really mind blowing facts here.

Ok, I know you are thinking how am I supposed to clean them? Just toss in the washer and then dryer / line dry. My preference is line dry. Love my clothes line! Not any work at all, do a load of wash or take out the trash and leave it here for our kids. Another fact from her page, "It takes approximately 500 years for one disposable menstraul pad to partially biodegrade."

Renee has thought about everything from different sizes, different designs, different prints, wipes, wet bags (to take with you ), nursing pads, diapers everything that is slowing distroying our earth. I love her colors! Her designs are fabulous! She has an assortment of sizes too.

Today is Monday, March 16, 2009. Today is warm and humid. Supposed to get rain this afternoon and evening, which will be very welcomed. The pollen is terrible and the rain will help to settle it down. One lone squirrel at the feeder and the sun is just starting to come up. The birds are close, I can hear them singing. My little Japanese Magnolia Tree is finally getting leaves to go with her blooms.

I finally finished up my project for a friend. She knows nothing of it, so it will be a surprise when it arrives in the mail. This rag quilting is so much fun. The possibilities are endless.

My friend loves dragons, so I found some dragon fabric and starting cutting them out. I needed a special button for this with a dragon. So I started my hunt with Bettye at SomethingPretty
Bonanzle booth. Bettye has some real talent and very easy to work with.

I contacted her to see if she would be willing to make that perfect button cover and she was so quick. In a very short amount of time I had several drawings from her. I was in awe at her work and chose the one I wanted. She listed my special button cover in her Bonanzle Booth SomethingPretty, I paid and in a very short amount of time, I had it in my hands. I already have my next project picked out along with the fabric. The next one is dancers. Would really like to learn to do the fabric stamping. Have loads of stamps that would look great on fabric to start other awesome projects. If you do fabric stamping, please leave a comment with hints and products that you have found to work well. This is something that I really want to learn to do. I guess my thinking is that the "ink" will bleed or fade out. Any help or ideas with this are so welcome!

Today is Friday, March 13, 2009. A cloudy and overcast day, but it is warm. Got the little plants into the ground and will now watch them grow. I took a me day yesterday and did not do any work at all. Or at least what I call work. Spent the day working on my BOS outside in the sunshine and loved every minute of it.
