Have A Blessed Samhain

<span class=

Today is Saturday, October 31, 2009. It has been a gorgeous day! It was warm but there was a breeze and not humid.

Today has been very busy, but a fun good busy. Not busy in a bad way. I was able to get my three projects completed and now to take pictures, my favorite part of listing. LOL So if it is another nice day tomorrow, I will get pictures.

The pool was used today by the kids and their friends. I don't know how they just jumped into it, but they sure enough did. I was told that it isn't bad if you just jump in, you get use to it really fast. Good, then you can just jump in tomorrow and you can vacuum the pool. They had fun for a few hours.

I wanted to wish everyone a very Blessed Samhain and a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous New Year!

A Non-Productive But Fun Day

Today is Thursday, October 29, 2009. It is going to be a gorgeous day at least this morning, the weather man is calling for thunderstorms this afternoon. Let's hope not, gets so muggy.

Yesterday was kind of a wasted day for productivity. Stayed up the night before with young son watching movies all night. He enjoys watching movies all night. He just doesn't understand that I am getting to old to pull those all nighters.

So didn't crawl out of bed until almost eight yesterday morning. I did get the pool vacuumed and it does look good, just to cold to use. It's almost like cooking all of these wonderful sweet treats and being on a diet, not being able to eat them.

We went over to moms last night and hung out with her for a couple of hours. She is doing great and still full of herself.

From moms I went looking for some fabric. We don't have choices here where to shop, and really didn't find anything, but I did get the wooden dowels that I need for a couple of projects that are started but not finished.

So today after checking the chemicals in the pool and getting the laundry hung, I plan on finishing three projects. That is the plan, however we shall see what the day has planned for me. LOL

If you don't read or follow Renee's blog, please do yourself a favor and read this post. It is about a type of Breast Cancer called Inflammatory Breast Cancer. We all need to be informed and take responsibility for our bodies. I love you Renee and thank you for sharing so much of yourself with all of us! If you don't do anything else for yourself today, read this post.

I hope everyone has a happy, healthy productive day.

Roller Coaster Weekend

Today is Monday, October 26, 2009. It was chilly until late afternoon and then it got really warm again. Tried to see the moon with Jupiter tonight, but it is so cloudy that you can barely see the moon.

Hubby came in Friday night about eleven and let at three Sunday. He left with clean clothes and two weeks worth of food. I think the emotional roller coaster is not worth the day and a half. My thoughts at this moment are, just stay there until the job is done and then come home.

I didn't bargain for this and I didn't marry military and just for that reason. My step dad was military and I promised myself that I would never move my kids around like that, never. So I think he is going to have to learn to cook for one and do more than one load of laundry. When he comes home, and returns to his husbandly duties, I will resume my wifely duties.

The water temperature of the pool was at 72 degrees, so it is still to warm to close it up. So this means that I am still blessed with this chore to do everyday.

So today the boys carved their pumpkin. I started to help but was told, that's alright we got it. OK then, I know when to back off, knock your socks off. When they were finished I roasted the seeds and they snacked until they were gone. I guess that they liked them. LOL

So tomorrow I will get back to work on my Yule projects and getting back to business. I can't believe that Samhain is here already and Yule is close behind. Another year has passed.....

Colors for the week:
Monday Ivory
Tuesday Red
Wednesday Brown
Thursday Turquoise
Friday Purple
Saturday Blue
Sunday Orange

I hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend and got to do something that they enjoyed doing.

Oh Happy Day!

Today is Friday, October 23, 2009. It looks like it is going to be another beautiful day. Just a gorgeous sunrise this morning!

Well tonight hubby will be home, so I need to get my chores done. Have to run into town to get groceries and chemicals for the pool.

Then home to cook for hubby's next two weeks. I get to make my bread on Saturday which means he will be one happy man. Me too, I really like this bread and I am not a big bread eater.

Maybe I can con him into helping me to close that pool Saturday. That would truly be a blessing and a big time saver. The water temperature has to get to fifty or below for the algae not to grow. Once the temperature has dropped then dump a couple of jugs of chlorine in and cover. Run the pump an hour a day and that is that.

I hope everyone have a most wonderful weekend and do something that you want to do.

Gotta run, to excited to sit!

One More Day!

Today is Thursday, October 22, 2009. Another gorgeous day. Sun shining and a breeze, the house is still opened up and smells so good. The birds must be enjoying this weather, they started singing very early this morning.

A couple of things that I would like to share with you today. One is an auction that I thought was pretty cool the will be on line so anyone can bid. It is Fangoria's Horror Movie Prop Auction. You can read more about it here, written by Auction Wally. Thought that this just had to be shared. He even has a slide show of some of the items to be auctioned off.

"The creature featured event boasts of over 400 major movie props and costumes from Halloween, Halloween II, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Resident Evil Extinction, Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Stepfather, 1408, Sorority Row, and the upcoming release, The Box." Stop on over to read all about it, he has the links to where to find all of the props. Click here

Brenda over at Wicked Wool Gathering is having a giveaway. If you have never seen her work you really need to take a peek. She makes the cutest crochet items, love, love, love the purple witch! Stop on over to her blog and show her some wicked love.

This morning while reading Sarah's blog which I usually don't miss for obvious reasons, I was just so humbled. When Sarah gives an award, she is doing so from the heart and not just because she feels obligated to do so.

I received this award from her this morning and am feeling very humbled by it. I thank you Sarah for being an awesome, ever giving of yourself friend. I will pass this on in a couple of days.

Only one day and hubby will be home! I am so jazzed! Tomorrow, YES! I will get him for a whole day and a half. And then two weeks, but that two weeks beats the heck out of thirty days!

Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live today. ~Brightest Blessings~

Two Days and Counting

Today is Wednesday, October 21, 2009. It is a gorgeous day. The sun is shining and there is a wonderful breeze. I received this picture in an e-mail thought it was so cute, so share I will.

Yesterday was a very productive day. The pool is finally cleaned out, now to get the chemicals right, which is almost there and it will be done. At least for today anyway. If it stays good for just two more days, hubby can handle it! Two more days and he will be here!

Laundry is hanging on the lines, butter beans are cooking, bean soup is in the cooker. Day six on my bread which means that I have added the other ingredients and will be able to cook bread on Saturday! That bread is sooo yummy!

So with getting most everything finished up early today or started, I will be able to work on a couple of Yule items that I have been wanting to get started. That time of year is so fast approaching. I can't believe how fast this year has gone again. The older that you get the faster time goes, it stops for no one. I was telling hubby this morning when he called, I have never wished for time to go by, here I am wishing my life away. I remember doing this when I was young wanting to be 13 then it was 16 then it was 18 then it was 21 and now, that was almost thirty years ago.

Stop over and leave our friend Sarah a hug, she has had a really rough week. I really dislike it when things suck for such a wonderful person.

Hope everyone is having a productive week.

On The Count Down

Today is Monday, October 19, 2009. The cooler weather has been here the last couple of days. It was only 36 degrees last night. It is supposed to get back up to the 70's today and the rest of the week.

Needless to say I needed to start the heater yesterday, only when I turned it on nothing happened. Trying to get some other things finished up, I went ahead and just turned it off, will deal with this later.

Finished up the things that needed to be done in the yard and pool. I can't wait to shut that pool down for the year. So much work and no enjoyment, hopefully in the next couple of weeks the temperatures will stay down and we can close it up. Then only to run the pump for an hour a day and all will be good.

Back inside I turned the heater back on and this time it kicked on, but no heat. OK, now what? So I called my son in law who does a/c work for a living. He is wonderful, I just love him. Not because he does a/c work, but because he married my daughter. He came over and replaced the thermostat and all was warm.

I am now on a count down for hubby to be home. He will be home about eleven Friday night! I am so excited! So I will start cooking Friday to make the time go faster. I cook and freeze his meals for him to take with him. This way when he gets off work, he doesn't have to cook, just put it into the microwave and eat.

Got my starter bread going to this weekend so his next trip in he will have mini loaves of sweet bread to take with him. That man loves bread and it doesn't matter what kind. With this bread you can make different flavors by using instant pudding and adding nuts, raisins or whatever you would like. My favorite was the butterscotch, yummy.

So this week will be busy getting things taken care of before he gets here Friday. The only thing that he will have to do is cut a limb that is scarping the side of the house. He will leave on Sunday about three, but he will be home every two weeks instead of thirty days.

Colors for the week:
Monday Silver
Tuesday Maroon
Wednesday Topaz
Thursday Green
Friday Coral
Saturday Indigo
Sunday Yellow

Was It A Good Day or A Bad Day? You Decide

Today is Friday, October 16, 2009. It has been a cloudy, rain on and off all kind of day. Supposed to get into the mid 40's tomorrow and Sunday night. Then back up into the 60's at night again.

Today is son #5 birthday, the big 17. He is a pretty good kid most of the time. But, I couldn't believe it when he asked me if he and his younger brother could go camping this weekend. But it is your birthday. "Yea, I know." "So can we?" You do know it is supposed to get into the 40's this weekend. "Yea mom I know, less bugs." I don't know why not. Off to get things ready they went.

So today is my run into town and get chemicals and food for the week. So I thought I would just get the chemicals and work on the pool today. Get it cleaned up before the cold set in and I couldn't get in to clean it.

I know it is going to be cold, but if I wait until tomorrow it is going to be a lot colder. Oh, the thought of getting into that cold water does nothing for me, nothing at all, but make me cold. OK, be brave, yea right. So I get the hoses hooked up and the pump going and the chemicals in. I found myself talking to myself. Trying to convince myself that it wasn't going to be that bad.

Just get in! It isn't going to get done just standing here looking at it. OK alright....ooohhhhhh, damn that is cold. Just don't think about it, how do I not think about it? Good, I am in, let's get this done and out of here, before I die with this flu.

About half way finished and the suction on the pump just stops and the hose lets go. The pump goes off. Oh, what just happened? And why did it happen? I am the only one here, OH please don't let the pump to have went out. Please......

So out of the pool I go, shut the pump off, unplug, remove the caps and check to make sure nothing has jammed it up. OK all is clear, crossing fingers, plug it in, turn it on, and nothing.

Back into the house to get a hot shower and wait until three,to call hubby when he gets off to see what he wants me to do about the pump. WONDERFUL news, the electric has went out! YES! This is the reason the pump isn't running.

Now is this wonderful that we don't have to get another $250 pump? Or that I get to get into that cold pool tomorrow and try it again? LOL

What To Do

Today is Monday, October 12, 2009. It was cloudy most of the day and hot. Still waiting for that Fall weather to come. Tricked me into thinking it was here two weeks ago. Oops, I spoke to soon, it is now pouring.

Didn't get much done in the way of work today. I did get my picture finished that I was making out of a card. It is a dragon on top of a castle with a full moon behind him. Caught a cold from son #5 and don't feel like doing to much of anything other than trying to breathe.

I read Sherry's blog the other night about coming to crossroads in our lives and how we really don't have to much control over a lot of things. Some of the crossroads that we come to who would have ever thought we would be there.

The crossroads that hubby and I are at now. Do we settle for him being gone for two weeks to be home a day and a half? Do we sell and move, then to have something happen with this contract? Do we just ride it out and if so for how long is the ride? Do we pick up and leave all of the kids and grandkids? We never, never thought we would be living states away from each other, let alone having no end in sight of how long this could last. We have never been apart more than three nights, this is all just so mind boggling.

Do we rent a house there and live here part time and there part time? Do I suspend my Internet business while I am in SC? Where would we spend the holidays? What about the critters, the pool, the garden? We can't take all of this..... None of this do we have control over as to how it will turn out.

I do know that I am getting to old for this stuff. Our kids have lived in three homes and one was temporary while waiting for the one we are in now. Never cared for moving, it's like I leave a piece of me and so many memories. The last move I remember removing the growth charts in the hallway of the kids. Thinking this will be the last time that I walk through this house on the way out locking the door behind me.

This is the only home that the grandkids know for us. They know no other house for grandma and papa. What will happen to the summers in the pool and grilling out? How often will we see them?

I guess when this all plays out, we will have some answers, but not until......

Projects For My Room

Today is Sunday, October 11, 2009. It has been another hot day, not as humid as it has been, but hot. I thought it was going to rain this afternoon, no rain only clouds.

This weekend I worked on projects for my room. These hang tags I had gotten from Sarah's web site. I had wanted them for some time and when she had announced that she had her site up and running, well, I just had to get them. LOL

I framed them so that they can be displayed all of the time. I just love her work and they are suitable for framing. I have another one that I had received from a friend that is a card with a dragon that I am working on now and hope to have finished up tonight.

Can't wait until hubby is home, two more weeks! Would love to get my room textured so that I can get it painted. I want it yellow. Yes, yellow. If he textures it, I can paint it and get the shelf/table made and put up. Don't want to hit him with this on his first trip home, so I plan on his second trip home to have the room completely emptied out, so all he has to do is shot it with the mud.

When he leaves to go back, I can paint and get it the way that I really want it done. Shelves, I need shelves, lots of them.

I can't believe all of the giveaways that have been going on here in blog land, but this one is just awesome! You have to go check it out! Sherry of Byrum Art is offering two totally awesome prints and her work is just wicked! The witches and cauldrons are just fantastic!

This is the second place winner! You have to go see her blog to see what the first place winner is to receive. I just love this! It is just so wicked!

I hope everyone got to do something that they wanted to do this weekend and really enjoyed doing it.

An Enjoyable Day

Today is Wednesday, October 7, 2009. I am truly wondering when fall will be here. Last week was wonderful! This week has been hot and humid after the rains.

Had to go down town to the Main Post Office this morning, the other one won't except international packages. So yes Claire, yours is on the way. Ashley's too is on the way, along with a couple of sales. That was a nice trip.

Then went over to moms for coffee with young son. Sat and chatted with her for an hour or so and then home to get some laundry going before the afternoon showers rolled in. Threw dinner in the crock pot, and off to the outside to get some things that needed to be done. Even dusted and vacuumed the house.

Needless to say I didn't water anything figuring the rains would be coming, well they didn't come. So back outside to water.

This evening I am going to get my BOS out and spend some time writing, something that I have neglected for far to long. I use to write every day, and then the last couple of weeks nothing. So tonight my BOS and I have a serious date.

Tomorrow I will spend the day finishing up the bags that are all but finished so that I can get them out as well. I really like this project and am thrilled to be doing it.

I am thrilled that a shop down town maybe putting my items in on consignment. WOW, how cool is that!?! In time for the holiday shoppers, yes!

I learned after last year, do NOT sell on one venue only. Get your items every where! Do not direct your customers to a venue, direct them to your web site. After all isn't this the goal? I have learned a lot in the last year and this year I will have my items every where.

All Night Movie Night

Today is Monday, October 5, 2009. It has been rainy and humid all day today. I so was hoping that the fall weather was here. Of course the rain came after I had watered everything. The weather man was right this time.

The boys and I stayed up all night last night watching movies and just hanging out together. We watched Race To Witch Mountain and Practical Magick. Both great movies! I think that this thing with dad being gone is getting to them, both of them at this point.

Son #5 came in last night while I was in the kitchen, put his arms around me. Of course I put my arms around him to, but this was not a "I love you mom, I need some gas money, please." I didn't say anything, I didn't have to. I could tell by the way he was breathing and the quiver in his voice, "This just isn't fair dad not being here." I know son, sometimes we have to go through times which are unpleasant in order for us to really appreciate the pleasant times. "How long is he going to have to do this?" I don't know son, I just don't know.

I did get an awesome e-mail from Becca tonight! One of my owl drawstring bags was featured on Etsy! This just blew me away! Thank you Becca! Whooo Hoots! Check it out!

My special girls package is all but packaged up, will go out in the mail on Wednesday with the other ones.

A Project Finishing Weekend

Today is Saturday, October 3, 2009. Another fine fall day, well not really but the windows are all open and there is a breeze. The humidity is not bad so the house doesn't feel damp.

Working on projects that I hope to have finished this weekend and out in the mail on Monday. One is for a really sweet person Claire. I just love reading her blog, she always makes me laugh and her pictures and art are great too. I just realized that she also has an art blog it is listed on her sidebar.

Then of course the things for my special girl. Started on a couple of them last night and they are almost finished. So I should be able to get her box out on Monday. YES!

My troop bags are almost finished and then to fill them and write some thank you notes to add to them.

I received this award from a very sweet and talented lady Becca. She does the most wonderful expressions on her items. They are so cool. Thank you Becca!

Here is what to know about this award:

1. Thank the person who gave you the award.
2. Copy the Logo and paste it to your blog.
3. Link to the person who gave you the award.
4. Name 7 things about yourself no one would really know.
5. Nominate 7 "Kreativ Bloggers".
6. Post links to the 7 blogs.
7. Leave a comment on each blog so they know you nominated them.

OK so now I have to tell you seven things that no one would really know about me.

1. I will NOT stick my hands in pockets. Do not like that "stuff" found in them.
2. I like all music except rap.
3. I have not written in my BOS in almost two weeks and this bothers me.
4. I love Mexican and Chinese food.
5. Am a stay to myself person, don't like large groups of people.
6. Don't like my altar items played with.

Mother Moon's Message

Hope that you all enjoyed this.

A Fabulous Day

Today is Friday, October 2, 2009. The sun is shinning and it is going to be another fall day! The squirrels seem to get energized in the cooler weather too. They get crazy pinging off of the trees and playing tag with each other.

Yesterday was a fabulous day. Got more cleaning done and laundry done, the house smells so good with all of the windows open. Received the lady bug material, went to see my mom, and I was so honored to receive this award from Sarah.

This award is truly an honor to receive. It is not one that is passed on, it is truly given as a gift. I took this off of Sarah's blog:

The Mental Duck to Mental Swan Award is given to two amazing groups of bloggers;

1. To Bloggers who encourage and nurture others bloggers to explore and grow in their creative, spiritual or mental lives.
2. To Bloggers who are blooming and growing creatively, spiritually or mentally in their lives & sharing it on their blogs .

Please do not pass this one along....I like to give it out every now and again as a gift from me..Thanks!

If you aren't following Sarah's blog you are missing a wonderful blog. She is honest, open and a very caring lady. Her blog will make you laugh, cry and think, really think. She will inspire you to go to the next level with little fear. She will also put things in check, sometimes we all need a reminder in life. I thank you Sarah for sharing so much of yourself with all of us! You are a generous soul! A true friend.....

I went to see mom last night and we talked until 3:30 this morning! We had so much fun, taking and laughing. I love my mom, she is so no nonsense, says it like it is. I know where I get it from. No sense in fertilizing that bush.

So today I will work on a couple of loads of laundry and sew with the lady bug for my special girl. I think I will be able to get her a few items out of that material and going to get them done for her. Also have to finish up my treat bags for the troops. Been working on this for a couple of weeks now and have to get this finished up and sent out to them.

These guys bring tears to my eyes. I miss my hubby, but I also know that he can come home if need be and he can come home for the holidays. Our troops can't, my heart goes out to them and their families. I remember not so long ago my son doing two tours in Iraq, not an easy feeling. So again I say a heart felt thank you to them and their families!
