It's Monday

Today is Monday, June 29, 2009. It started out to be a beautiful day, went and watered the plants and hung out the laundry. Things were moving along very nice. Then came the wind and clouds. Here came the rain...... I guess we need take the lead of the critters and not worry so much about getting things done and just relax. That load of laundry would have waited until tomorrow and well mother earth takes very good care of our earth.

Still cutting out the squares for my sons blanket. Had company yesterday so that day not to much go done. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable. Cooked out and played in the pool. After the pool we planted the six golden chain trees that I started from seeds, they are about 18 inches tall now and ready to go into the ground.

New Projects

Today is Friday, June 26, 2009. It is going to be another beautiful day. Woke up to the birds singing. They are very happy fellows this morning.

Started working on a larger quilt yesterday for my son. Going to need 300 squares to make this one happen. So, started cutting the squares maybe by Monday I will get to start sewing the squares together.

Make four pair of shorts in the last couple of days also. Working on a couple of more pair for the grandson, the cameo freak. Everything has to be cameo and he is only six. So I have some cameo material left from other projects that will now become shorts for the little guy.

I know that summer just got here, but with the temperatures ranging from 96 to 101, I am already looking forward to fall. Fall is my favorite time of year, it is so colorful and cooler. Love the sound of the crunchy leaves and the leaf pile jumping.

Need to get moving in a forward direction this morning, lots to finish up before the weekend starts.

Have a happy, healthy, productive day! Don't forget to take some "me" time. Brightest Blessings!

Freedom?

Today is Wednesday, June 24, 2009. The sun is shinning and the birds are singing. What more could you ask for? Freedom....

I normally don't get to political, however the last week or ten days have been very disturbing to me. Watching the protesters in Iran, fighting for their freedom, something that everyone should have. Watching them beaten, shot and hung. This is their government? They have nothing to defend themselves with, stones and each other. No one outside of their country seems to care what is happening to these people. How sad this is.....

Then we have a government that wants to push the "Cap and Trade" through Friday in two days. This will cause ALL taxes to go up AGAIN! Here is a link to go to to have your voice heard,Vote No on H.R.2454 maybe someone that we pay their paycheck to will listen.

The national health care is very scary to me. I was born in Alaska and seen my share of our neighbors from Canada come to Alaska to get an infected tooth pulled because they couldn't get into a dentist in Canada. Others came to go to the doctors, the wait list was months long to get into a doctor in Canada. They had no choice, they had no medical or dental without months on a "waiting list" to get seen. Is this what we really want to happen here? Not to mention that our medical records will be seen by all in Washington. Oh, I know, they are private, but this is Washington that is in charge of these records. LOL

I am so glad I am at the age I am, although, I feel for my children and grandchildren future. Their rights are being taken one at a time and they will be paying for all of this for their entire life.

Finished Listing On My Site!

Today is Tuesday, June 23, 2009. It is going to be another gorgeous day! Hot and humid but still gorgeous. Need to mow the lawn again that rain really inspires growth in my yard. The squirrels are just pinging off of the trees this morning, crazy little critters.

Finished up all of the listings on my site yesterday! Just thrilled with myself for getting it done. Still have to list the new items, but that will get done today. The outdoors is working with me with sun light.

Now to get down to real business with my new projects. I am so looking forward to getting started with all of that fabric that I received! So much fabric so little time. Talked with Sharon last night about making the Book of Shadow divider pages digital. The cost of them to make, print and ship was just out of this world. So I am excited about that! This way someone can just print off the ones that they want and no waste. Sharon is just a super person to work with, love her!

Time to get productive! Have a happy, healthy, productive day! Brightest Blessings!

Only 24 More Listings To Do On My Site

Today is Monday, June 22, 2009. It appears that today is going to be another hot and humid day. It rained Friday and Saturday. This picture is of the last rose that had opened after the rain. The sparrows seem to have found their way back, haven't seen them in a while.

This weekend was another working weekend. Had to redo all of the listings on my web site. Have all but 24 to do and will finish them up this morning. Then I should have time to do the things that I have to put off to work on the computer. So many projects so little time lately.

Had a friend of mom's to give me a huge lot of fabric, some recycled some off of her old projects. WOW! I can't wait to get the computer stuff finished up and move back to starting and finishing up the other three projects that I have started.

Got to spend some time with a few friends yesterday, Summer Solstice. It was nice, we all had so much to do that we only spent a few hours together, however it was time well spent for all of us. Found this yesterday with some great pictures. Check it out.

Time to finish up the other 24 listings and get two additional ones listed. Then on to new things.
So looking forward to making items and not describing them. LOL

A Productive Day Yesterday Was!

Today is Tuesday, June 16, 2009. It is supposed to be another hot one today, 97 degrees. So thankful that the pool is good and don't have to mess with it to use it. It stayed good all winter so now it is ready to use.

Yesterday was a very productive day! Thanks to Sarah she walked me through the steps to set up my selling blog. THANK YOU! You would be wise to check out and follow her blog. Always and interesting read.

So, I got that going yesterday and did some touch ups this morning to it. Not finished, although I don't think our projects are ever really finished. Make sure to check it out at Mother Earth Friendly. This is going to be where I sell only recycled, handmade items. I now have bags of things to work with and am very excited about getting more items made.

Have lots to do today, things that I wanted to do yesterday, however just ran out of time. This is one of the Mabon Altar Cloths that I did get finished this past weekend.

A Productive, Sad, Surprise Weekend

Today is Monday, June 15, 2009. It is going to be another hot one here today. Supposed to be 97 degrees here today. Is he trying to tell me something or just in his comfort zone hanging out there? He is just spread out there like a man on the couch after dinner. LOL

It was a productive, sad and surprising weekend for me all rolled into one. Just a part of life....

I was able to finish up two Mabon altar cloths one for a kit and one to be sold separately. Have another tote that is all but finished, just have to sew the button on. It is really cute, green and purple. I will get pictures of these finished projects today and show you tomorrow. I was even able to keep up on my chores this weekend. That usually never happens, so when Monday gets here I am already behind.

Got an e-mail from a very good friend Sunday saying that her mom had a massive heart attack and had passed on. Got the candles lit and placed in the window, sent her strength and energy. She is going to need it. Her mom couldn't have been that old, a lot younger than my mom. I know that we all have had rocky times with our mom, but she is still our mom. My mom is my best female friend. We can talk about everything and I do mean everything. All the more reason to live by the saying, Remember yesterday, Dream about tomorrow, but LIVE today. If you haven't called someone that you have been "meaning" to call or wrote that letter, make today the day to do it.

Then I received a package in the mail on Saturday. Hubby brought it in the house and told me it weighs a ton, well I knew it wasn't the fabric that I had ordered so I had no idea what it was. Hubby opened it and WOW to my surprise a wonderful man and just an awesome friend sent me a cast iron kettle, it is a very old one and it has some very nice energy! Thank You Wally for taking your time to send this to me, I love it! He even took the time to write a handwritten note to enclose with it. Not to many people that I know any more write anything by hand. Such a nice touch!

This is just too cool! Love it!

A Very Squirrely Day

Today is Wednesday, June 10, 2009. It is going to be a hot one today supposed to be 94 degrees and 96 tomorrow. Oh, how I hope they are wrong! Hubby put this hibiscus tree still in the pot out by the bird/squirrel feeder. This little guy climbs up it to get himself a leaf. He would then sit in the pot and eat it like an ear of corn. Then back up for another one. I told hubby this and he just looked at me like I was a little....crazy? So when I seen he was going back up for another leaf I yelled at hubby to come have a look. Sure enough he did it again. Needless to say, he moved it to the front of the house. I have never seen a squirrel eat leaves before. Interesting....

Got a few things moving yesterday, fabric cut and ready to sew today. Looking forward to getting these altar kits finished up and listed. I do think that I am going to make a few of the listings just for the altar cloth and a few for the complete kit. Need to get the other totes listed on Bonanzle today too. Have learned to space my listings out, with the search showing newest first.

Going to try to get some more of the attributes done today also. What a pain in the neck these are to do. Although, Bing.com has been bringing me some traffic. Make sure you are listed with them! They just may over take Google, they are even doing television advertising. I think they are still in beta, however I could be wrong.

Hope to have pictures of finished projects tomorrow for you. At least that is my goal for today.
Have a happy, healthy, productive day! Brightest Blessings!

Sharing a New Bonanzle Booth With You

Today is Tuesday, June 9, 2009. It looks like maybe the rain might not come today. The sun is shining and the clouds are far and few between. Hurried and got the laundry on the lines this morning. So maybe, just maybe it will dry and I won't have to use the drier. Haven't used it except for my rag quilt items in three months.

Received my fabric from Brenda at Beewell's Bonanzle booth. I wish all sellers were like this lady. She sells great items and is so quick to ship your items to you. She is there to answer any questions that you may have about the fabric. If she isn't in her booth, she answers your e-mails quickly.

So today I can start on my other altar kits that I have been wanting to finish up. Oh, I so dislike having projects started and not finished. So I should have four more altar kits finished up this week. Looking forward to finishing them up.

There is a new Bonanzle booth that I want to share with you. It is out of this world! RockOnByAudi's Bonanzle booth is wonderful! Let me share some of the items.

Brightest Blessings Expanding?

Today is Monday, June 8, 2009. Another cloudy day, the sun does peak through once in a while. This is the stag horn fern that we had taken apart to place on other trees and into a few baskets. We gave a couple away and the folks were thrilled with them. They don't require to much to maintain and are so pretty.

Working on expanding into another area for my business and am very excited about it. This area will be offered on my web site BrightestBlessings. I have been playing with the idea for a couple of weeks now and am ready to get to work on it. Will fill you in later with more details.

This is the fourth tote "Purple Daisy's" that I finished. It measures 12 1/2" x 9" with a 4" gusset. The straps are 2 1/4" with a 13 12" drop. Miss Bettye did a super job on the matching ceramic button cover. It can and should be removed before machine washing and drying. It has one outside pocket and 3 pockets on the inside. It has purple daisy's and other purple flowers and vines.

Go Green Jean Rag Quilt Tote

Today is Sunday, June 7, 2009. We have had storms on and off again for the past week. Well since last Tuesday. Trying to attend to plants that need attention with these storms has not been an easy task. Not to mention those mosquito's! Oh are they bad! This is a picture of the Staghorn Fern that was taken off of one needed to be split up, it was huge.

Went to the flea market yesterday only to be rained out. So off to get groceries we went. It has been a very quiet weekend, most welcomed. Was able to get some things finished up and get family things done.

Here is another one of the totes that I finished up. I really like this one! It is made from a pair of jeans. Go green! This is my "Go Green Jean Rag Quilt Tote" . This was the first time that I had broken a needle was while making this one. Scared me when it happened. LOL

This one I made a clay button and added the daisy to it to match the tote. It measures 10"x 7" with a 3 3/4" gusset. The straps are 2 1/2" wide with an 8 1/2" drop also made of the jeans. Just the right size.

Remember tonight is the Strong Sun Moon, recharge yourself! Brightest Blessings!

Another Rainy Day, That's OK

Today is Friday, June 5, 2009. Don't know what to think of this weather lately. Yesterday it was so so. Today started out beautiful, so I threw a load of laundry in the washer. Just as soon as the washer stopped, here come the rain and thunder. Those big drops with lots of noise. It hasn't seemed to bother the critters at all. I can't believe how fast everything is growing, the lawn will have to be mowed again this weekend. There is a saying that a well manicured lawn has no life, if that is the case, mine is just full of life. LOL

I am going to list my new totes today on my website BrightestBlessings and only do one a day in my Bonanzle Booth. Bonanzle search is by the newest, so, that means you have to delete listings and redo them to get a higher search. No sense in doing them all at one time.

Here is the tote that I said I would not have ever put these colors together, until this tote of course.
Front: Check out that Button Cover Miss Bettye made, it matches exactly! She has such a wonderful talent!

The inside has 4 pockets. Check out the colors.

A Designer Or Copy/Paste Cat?

Today is Thursday, June 4, 2009. It has been a rainy day here today. There have been storms on and off since Tuesday night. It has finally happened, my Miniature Japanese Magnolia tree has booth flowers and leaves both at the same time! Usually it has leaves and no flowers or flowers with no leaves. I am so proud of it!

I didn't get my totes listed yet, however I did get the pictures taken and measurements. That is over half the battle right there. I did get the attributes done in my Bonanzle booth listings today. If it isn't one thing it is another.

Had a friend visit me last night. Dang she was angry! When I found out why she was so angry, I was angry. Someone is now copying her work and selling it as their own. She is very good at what she does and works very hard at it. To have someone come along and copy it and I do mean copy it, and sell it as their own, well all I can say is EVERYTHING comes full circle! And to call yourself a designer? Copy and paste is not a designer, I think that is called plagiarism. When people decide to copy someone else, they should make sure that what they are copying isn't going to show up. By that I mean, we all have things that we add to make our work our own. It usually isn't something that is needed to make it work, it is just our way of knowing it is ours. Like the way an artist signs their art. I have things in each of my items that I know where they are located, no one else would, but I do. I also know that it is something that no one else is going to notice. My friend also has things in her work that isn't needed, however it makes it her work. So to YOU and YOU know who YOU are, you so owe her a heart felt apology. Then you need to make the folks that you sold to know that it isn't your work, your new design or your new layout, that it is stolen.

I will share with you the vintage napkin rag quilt tote that I made. "Something Old and Something New" I really like this one! It is a one of a kind, unless someone finds those vintage napkins to make another one. It is a smaller one and I really like that. When I had little kids I liked the larger totes or when we are going on a trip, but for everyday life I like the smaller ones.
"Something Old, Something New"
The outside is made of the two vintage napkins and the inside is made of new fabric.
Miss Bettye did a gorgeous job on matching the button to the fabric! She is just awesome!

This is the back.
The sides.
The inside has two pockets, large enough for your cell phone or keys or whatever.
I will share the other ones tomorrow with you. It is getting late here and still have a couple of things to finish up. BrightestBlessings!

A very Productive Weekend

Today is Monday, June 1, 2009. It looks like it is going to be another 93 degree day! Yesterday was a hot one. This weekend was a very busy productive one. Got lots done and tired, but a good tired. That feeling of getting things done. From cleaning the inside of the house to changing the oil in the cars to pressure washing the house and mowed the lawn. Yes, now back to work.

Friday went well with the grand daughter she is a hoot. However, everyone decided to stop over so by the time hubby got home there were a total of 5 grand kids and 4 kids. It was kind of funny seeing the look on his face when he walked in the door. He looked at the two little ones sitting on the living room floor and looked up at me. "I thought you were only going to have one this afternoon....." Well..... The house finally cleared about 8 that night.

Today I work on my web site some more and get the quarterly taxes done. If the postal service works with me I should also be able to list the four totes that I have finished. The button covers from Miss Bettye should be here today. Excited about that.

Also tonight is the St. Jude charity auction at 8 edt on the Auction Wally Brainstorming Bonanzle Show. It will be called live and 100% of the money goes to St. Jude. The Bonanzle sellers have donated all items and the shipping too. So what you bid is what you will pay. You can check out the items at the Bonanzle Up Mobile booth, which is also where you will place your bids. You will need two tabs open, one at the Brainstorming Bonanzle Show to hear the auction and the other at the Bonanzle Up Mobile Bonanzle booth to place your bids. This is for a super cause, the kids!
